Savva Tailors
A small tailoring team on Tottenham Court Road, established in 1984. The old site was a single-page Bootstrap template: dated, slow on mobile, and with no way to book. I ran the project end-to-end — from a quick Phase 1 rescue that got the business live and saving money, to a full Phase 2 redesign and rebuild with online bookings, technical SEO and a trade-enquiry channel.

From rescue to rebuild
The old site was a single-page Bootstrap template that was hard to maintain and slower than it needed to be on mobile. I pulled the code, swapped the form endpoint over to Formspree, and deployed it to Cloudflare Pages. The business was live — and saving money — from Day 1, which bought the time to do Phase 2 properly.
A from-scratch rebuild in Astro with React islands, mobile-first, and built around real photography of the workshop. Olive and cream palette, serif display type, a primary "Book a fitting" CTA on every page, and a dedicated trade-enquiry path for bespoke and made-to-measure houses.
What changed
The old template looked like any other alterations shop. The new design starts from the craft: real workshop photography, a deep olive and cream palette, serif headlines, and copy that positions Savva as the atelier behind some of London’s finest tailoring houses.
Fittings used to be phone-only. I added separate enquiry flows for private clients and trade partners via Formspree, so leads can arrive outside shop hours and land in the right inbox — removing the single biggest point of friction between a site visit and a fitting.
Semantic markup, LocalBusiness schema with address and opening hours, BreadcrumbList on every page, FAQPage schema, canonical URLs, auto-generated sitemap, Open Graph / Twitter Cards, image optimisation and performance work — the unglamorous foundations that let a small local business rank for the searches that matter.
Most competitors ignore the trade. I built a dedicated /trade page and messaging aimed at bespoke and made-to-measure houses, positioning Savva as the workshop behind the workshops — a channel that could become a serious growth lever.
Results, not just deliverables
More foot traffic to the Tottenham Court Road workshop — the owner is seeing new clients walk in who found the studio online.
Direct revenue already attributed to the site, including a £360 alteration and a £50 repair from first-time clients.
A 24/7 booking and enquiry path for private fittings and trade partners, replacing the old phone-only system.
SEO foundations in place so the business keeps ranking for the service-specific searches that bring in consistent leads.
